Sorry for the delay in posts, I’ve been having problems with my Internet provider…now back to blogging!

Author of the blog Shades of Time and co-editor/founder of Remain Light, Karly Wildenhaus is a Chicago based photographer whose newly updated website contains an interesting project titled Interference (2008).

While I’m not too sure about how these images where created, my guess is by hacking an image’s code or through captured video error, I really like how the aesthetic feels authentic; not an easy characteristic to preserve. This is to say that these images (the term image seems so fitting here) denote a certain sense of artistry, an awareness of the ephemeral properties that can exist within everything inherently digital. They are less like an error and more like Wildenhaus’ creations.

Note: If you’re interested in this type of aesthetic, a fresh stance against the cliché hyper reality of digital photography, take a look at Japanese video artist Takeshi Murata. More work here. Also, here is a You Tube link to a sample of Murata’s work.
